INTEGRATION on Wednesday was pretty much amazing. Check it out.

I Gotta A Feeling…

It was a great night. It has been for a while now. Though my observations can be perceived as a promotional opportunity, whatever. It’s rare that I can truly be in depth and honest about how I feel after DJing a night at Integration. Let me chalk this up to me being personal and not having blogged in a long time and just wanting to express some things (ok, and a little drunk). Read more…

Piranha Nightclub in Vegas

Piranha

I can’t stand fish. They bother me to no end because everything about them is just plain creepy: they lurk around in the water, they’re slimy, they’ve got eyes on the sides of their heads, and they smell disgusting. The stench reminds me of Joan River’s stale, hasn’t-been-used-in-a-couple-decades…. nevermind. Ahem. Anyways, the point is my brain tends to tune out whenever a conversation veers towards fish. There are only two occasions when I don’t mind the topic: 1) whenever sushi is involved and 2) when it’s about the Piranha nightclub in Vegas. Okay, I know it’s a stretch of an introduction, but just humor me and go with it.

Planned Parenthood Now Offering Transgender Healthcare Services

Hello everyone, this is Michael Gerald, Health Educator at PPMM, and I wanted to let everyone know that as of July 1st, 2009, PPMM Fulton Clinic in Fresno is now offering Transgender Healthcare Services. We accept most every insurance (including Blue Cross and Medi-Cal) and we are offering Male to Female (MtF) to Female to Male (FtM) hormone therapy (including anti-androgens). There are three criteria to obtain these services at our clinic: must be 18 or older (we are currently working on a waiver for under 18); be able to give informed consent; and have either a referral from a psychotherapist (3 months of therapy or more) or 3 months of life experience as Transgender. When clients call, they should tell the scheduler that they would like Transgender Services, this will allow the client to also give a preferred name and pronoun. When a person visits for Trans Services they will need to give a complete medical history, receive a physical exam, and undergo lab testing. All of these services are offered at our clinic, along with continued check ups with a clinician. If you have any questions about these services, please call 877-855-7526. They can also schedule an appointment at this number. Thank you.

The Great Debate: 2010 or 2012?

July 28, 2009 mark aguilar 1 comment

So for the past few weeks there has been a buzz regarding what to do in the aftermath of the California Supreme Court upholding Prop 8. I have heard and seen in newsletters, Blogs, conversations and in the news. Some say let’s get Marriage Equality back on the ballot as soon as possible. This would be 2010 (next year). Some say it is too soon and we need to get organized and regroup and try it again in 2012 . . . 3 years from now. I am kind of on the fence on this issue, I can see where we need to get right back in there and try again, but at the same time, maybe we do need to see what we really have to do to make the change happen. Because it was such a close race, especially in places like Fresno, some groups such as Courage campaign are going door to door to win people over . . . a tactic that the other side is now doing as well. From what I understand it is working and people are changing their view on Marriage Equality. Read more…

Kathy. Effing. Griffin.

Griffin

We’re all Kathy Griffin! Actually, there is only one Kathy Griffin, and she’s SO TINY! Tiny and hilarious. I have to say, I have never laughed so hard for two solid hours. Also, I have never appreciated my Tivo more. You see, I have a confession to make. I am a reality television addict. Usually, I had my addiction in prime time shame, but not at the Saroyan theatre this past weekend! Oh, no, I got to revel in it as I watched Kathy re-enact everyone’s favorite moment from the Real Housewives of New Jersey (“Prostitution whore!”), and give all the latest juicy gossip on Jon of Jon and Kate Plus 8. Top that off with a lot of discussion about my favorite person on My Life on the D-List, Kathy’s mother, and a grand finale about Donald Trump (his pubes have a comb over…just sit and picture that for a moment), and it was a winner of a night. I think I speak for all of us when I say we had a blast!

IntegrationSummer2009Final

Did you miss me, puppies? I know you did, and now’s your chance to come strut your stuff on the dance floor with yours truly. My dance card will be open, so come early because it won’t be open for long! Also, it’s Senior Blogger Roy’s birthday, and he’s kicking off his birthday week RIGHT with some good times at Integration. There will be a lot of queer love in the house this week, you don’t want to miss this! Remember…be there, or be straight!
